What are the laws for a sheriff sale for credit card debit?
I got a notice for a debt which was not mine and even got off my credit report about a year ago, but now I guess someone bought the debt and told me if I don’t pay then they’ll sheriff sale all my stuff. It wasn’t my debt to begin with and finially got it fixed now this. But what can they really sale? I thought they could only sell houses and cars, big cash value stuff, unless of course I was arrested or died. But for credit cards what can they sell? The company told me they could sell everything including my kids toys and the clothes off our backs, even our pictures on the wall of our kids. Is this true or is this just a scare tatic? They also told me it doesn’t matter that I had this debt fixed, that they want they’re money. How could they do this? What are the laws?
It is a scare tactic.
