Sweet gift…or too suggestive?
So I’ve become close friends with this girl over the past several months. In the process I’ve started to fall for her, but unfortunately (for me) she has a boyfriend. They’ve been dating for almost 2 years, but this past year it’s been a long-distance relationship as she’s here @ school while he’s still at home. While I don’t want to be a “homewrecker”, both male and female friends have told me that there is nothing wrong with me providing another option. I haven’t, however, explicitly told her my true feelings. Most of the female friends I’ve talked with also feel that this girl is flirting with me, so I’m rather confused by the mixed signals.
Recently she had a birthday. I got her an autographed and framed album of her favorite band. Included was a card which was criss-crossed by two yellow tulips.
Really nice, sweet gesture…or too suggestive? Any suggestions of what I should do next?
Should I tell her how I feel, or just keep everything to myself?
That was a very sweet thing to do. However, it may put pressure on the girl to chose between her boyfriend of 2 years, and you. Also, the girl will have added pressure due to the fact that she is dealing with a long distance relationship already. She may feel guilty if she responds to you because she already has a bf. I would just be friendly with her and let her make her own decision. Be supportive but not pushy. She will admire you even more for caring about her and her feelings.
