Holiday 2008 Gift
What is a good holiday gift for my dad who is trying to find a job?
Basically, instead of buying the “normal” gifts this year, I want to get him something that he can use to better himself by finding a job. After being unemployed & searching since June 2008, jobs aren’t any easier to come by, if anything it’s worse. My first thoughts were of subscriptions to publications/websites that might be helpful in finding work but I figured I would ask the question publicly to get a wide range of answers. He’s 53 and has many years of experience at pharmaceutical companies & large distributions warehouses.
I’d give him gift cards for Big Box store. You don’t say that he is cash crunched, but searching since 2008 he might need the extra $$. A Gift Card to a Big Box store would allow him to do whatever he wants with it.
